As part of the Union government′s community participation project, almost 37,000 persons (or 83%) out of the total 44,356 tuberculosis patients who are currently receiving treatment for TB in Andhra Pradesh have agreed to divulge their identity.

This ambitious national strategy plan, with the target of "ending TB by 2025," is being carried out by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. On Friday, President Droupadi Murmu officially introduced the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.

Vidadala Rajini, the AP health minister, virtually participated in the show. Mrs. Murmu also introduced the "Nikshay Mitra" program, an essential part of the campaign that gives contributors a place to support patients receiving TB treatments in various ways.

Initiatives for community adoption would be made more accessible by this. Support for TB patients will be provided through the adoption of urban wards, blocks, or districts, as well as by single patients or groups of patients.

"Nikshay Mitras" will be the name given to the donors. To update the consent of TB patients who agreed to disclose their identities and embrace the community adoption program, the Union government provided online digital consent on the Nikshay website. (Times of India, Sep 10, 2022)
